Itinerary for “La Perla del Montefeltro”
Km 91 - Riccione – M.Fiore – Urbino – Tavullia – Riccione
A fairly challenging route which however rewards you of the effort by bringing you, half way along the way, to the town of Urbino. Along this route, cyclists will have to tackle three climbs and two not easy descents.
If you take a look at the map, you see that you will come to the first climb after 10km from the starting point, whereas the last one is 20km from the arrival. Conditions that require maximum calm and concentration. You start from Riccione in the direction of Morciano.
From here you tackle the uphill road to Montefiore, that you can see in the distance flaunting its mighty fortress in all its splendour. You carry on to Tavoleto, which you will cross and leave behind you, and then to Cà Gallo climbing up towards.
Here you can stop for as long as you wish to take a break.
But if you prefer, this i san excellent opportunity to visit a truly splendid town, all surrounded by its walls, which has preserved its renaissance vestiges intact and which every year attracts tourists from all corners of the world. You shouldn’t miss a visit to the Palazzo Ducale built in the 15th century and the view from the Albornoz Fortress.
Are you ready to go back? Well hop back on your bike and head towards Montecchio, with a first stretch downhill and then a climb uphill to Tavullia and San Giovanni in Marignano. The last kilometres are quite relaxing as you head towards Cattolica and Riccione after an intense and regenerating ride for both body and mind.
